About Us

We help people stay safe in a world where it's no longer possible to trust what you see online.

1

The Challenge

Every day, people meet online. They fall in love. They make deals. They book rooms, rent cars, and start friendships—often with complete strangers. And increasingly, some of those strangers aren't who they say they are.

2

Our Solution

We started IDfier because the digital world has a trust problem. With AI-generated faces, deepfakes, and stolen identities, it's harder than ever to know if someone is real—or real enough to trust.

What We Do

What We Do 1

IDfier is a peer-to-peer identity verification app that helps people confirm who they're really talking to before they meet, send money, or share anything important.

What We Do 2

Whether you're meeting a date from a dating app, letting out your flat, buying second-hand, or just chatting with someone new online you can use IDfier to make sure the person is genuine, human, and verified.

What We Do 3

Once you're verified, you can securely share your identity with others only when you choose, and only when it's mutual

We use the same kind of technology trusted by banks and border control:

Government-issued ID scan
Biometric face matching
NFC chip reading (for passports and e-IDs)
Liveness detection to prevent deepfakes
Our Technology
Our Founders

Built by People Who Understand the Problem

IDfier was co-founded by Pernilla Sjöholm, known globally for her appearance in The Tinder Swindler. After being targeted by one of the most high-profile romance frauds in recent history, Pernilla became a leading voice in online safety and identity protection.
Rather than just telling her story, she teamed up with Dr. Suejb Memeti, a computer scientist specialising in digital verification systems, to build a solution that could protect others from going through what she did.
Together, they created IDfier—a tool designed not just to spot fraud, but to empower people.

Our Story

From Netflix documentary to real-life solution

In 2022, Pernilla Sjöholm shared her personal story with the world in Netflix’s groundbreaking documentary, The Tinder Swindler. Her experience—being deceived by someone who expertly manipulated digital trust—was watched by millions, hitting number one in 92 countries. But rather than simply moving past the ordeal, Pernilla chose to transform her story into a powerful force for change.

Why we started IDfier?

After the documentary aired, countless people worldwide reached out to Pernilla, sharing similar stories of deception, fake identities, and deepening uncertainty in online interactions. Recognising a growing crisis, Pernilla resolved to help prevent others from experiencing the pain she endured. That’s when IDfier was born.
Teaming up with co-founder and tech visionary, Dr Suejb Memeti, Pernilla channelled her determination into action. Combining Suejb’s deep expertise in computer science, biometric security, and data protection with Pernilla’s personal advocacy and global voice, they set out to build a tool robust enough to combat fraud in today’s digital world.

Our mission: A safer online world for everyone

IDfier’s vision is clear—to empower individuals with the ability to trust who they interact with online. In a world increasingly infiltrated by sophisticated AI-generated personas, deepfakes, and fraudulent identities, we provide an essential solution: peer-to-peer identity verification that’s quick, secure, and reliable.
We believe everyone deserves the assurance that the person on the other side of the screen is exactly who they say they are. Leveraging technology used by banks and border control agencies worldwide, IDfier verifies identities using advanced biometric checks and document authenticity tests, all packaged into an intuitive app anyone can use.

Help shape a safer internet

Today, IDfier is poised to launch internationally, helping millions around the world confidently verify and trust their online interactions—whether it's dating safely, hiring remotely, or buying something from a stranger online. Our commitment remains unwavering: to reduce fraud, protect genuine connections, and restore trust in digital interactions.
